Easter Salt and Pepper Shakers

Women!

Can one ever understand this ‘specie’ of humans?

My wife will not talk to me for a full hour because I forgot to get her the salt and pepper shaker she asked of me in preparation for Easter.

Yes, it doesn't matters if that's the third time she's telling me. And I don’t think it matters if she's particularly stricken with a particular brand.

But to switch off on me like that for an hour? That's inexplicable.

She should know I have a lot to think about: I'm worried about putting food on the table for her and the children. I'm worried about paying the kids' fees. I'm worried about the mortgage plans, and paying the other bills.

And I'm worried about being a good husband.

Yes, seriously, I'm worried about that too. But hear her, "part of the responsibilities of being a good husband is remembering things your wife tells you."

I forgot to buy a Easter salt and pepper shaker and suddenly, I became a not-so-good husband.

At that point I would have got one for her at the run-down store beside our home.

But she pointedly told me she only wants Kate Aspen "About To Hatch" Ceramic Baby Chick Salt and Pepper Shakers.

For God’s sake, what’s in a salt and pepper shaker?

The Kate Aspen "About To Hatch" Ceramic Baby Chick Salt and Pepper Shakers is a "cracked" ceramic egg with a pale-yellow, chubby-cheeked chick wearing the top of the egg as a hat peeking out at the world.

Salt shakes from the top of the little chick's "hat", while pepper sprinkles from the bottom part of the egg.

Though small in size, it is an adorable shaker and it looks beautiful on the dining table. It is perfect as a gift item, beautifully accented with a delicate organza bow and an egg shaped "For You" tag.

Thanks God for Amazon, I ordered for one and everything went back to normal. I became a good husband, once again.

Looking at that salt and pepper shaker sitting on the dining table all I could think about is …
